Level 3.
Intermediate

• Revision of previous course material
• Introduction to reading TAB score ­ how to apply it to the guitar
• Barre chord theory workout
• An introduction to playing the Blues (Yeah, baby!)
• Passing notes – how these sequences are common to all popular musical genres
• Elaborate fingerpicking
• Compound finger picking (e.g. piano style on guitar)
• Blues “turn-arounds”
• Developing “coolness” as a player
• Using capos.

Level 4 & 5.

Intermediate Folk Pop (IFP) 

• More complex strumming rhythms
• Extended Barre chord theory ­ Alternate chord voicing… unlocking the chord universe!
• Incorporating bass lines in your strumming technique

• Plectrum playing techniques
• Blues boogies and turnarounds
• Chord muting techniques ­ open and barre chords
